The Barn Project
A few weeks ago someone left a note asking if we would allow a class of senior citizens taking an art class access to our yard, to make paintings of our barn. Of course we said yes!
Yesterday, I got the chance to stop by the senior center and meet the artists. They were kind enough to allow me to take their photos. Such beautiful faces. It was so much fun seeing their paintings. I spent about 1/2 an hour talking to the folks, taking photos, and observing the class. The instructor teaches 3 different levels of painting all in one class!
The instructor (Diane) mentioned the possibility of me teaching an evening photography class at the center. Um... YES! I left my business card with the director of the center. Spending time with the class reminded me how much I used to enjoy my old social work days, back before I became a computer nerd.
And when I said goodbye and thank you, one of the ladies gave me her barn painting! I might have gotten a little teary-eyed.
The teacher said she took photos and will continue to use the barn in future classes. She'll let me know when the next class has an exhibit. I'm going to try and take a photo of the barn to match each painting, then put all the photos into a book for the senior center.
Here are the photos I have so far, along with some pics of the barn. Enjoy!
